Yantra: the Tantric symbol of cosmic unity.

Yantra meant an instrument for restraining or fastening, a prop, support, or barrier, etymologically deriving from the root yam, “to sustain, support” and the -tra suffix, expressing instrumentation. Yantra arises in the medieval period.

A yantra comprises geometric shapes, images, and written mantra. Triangles and hexagrams are common, as are circles and lotuses of 4 to 1,000 petals. Yantras are used for specific benefits, such as: for meditation; protection from harmful influences; development of particular powers; attraction of wealth or success, etc.

This Yantra seminar will be an exploration of the basic yantra protocols: study the different implications on the mind of the simple shapes and forms like squares, circles, triangles and dots with the principle aspects of primary colors.

Brought together, shapes and colors have the capacity to modify our states of mind, going from ordinary perception to psychic discoveries and the different meditative states. Linked to the practices of intense nidra yoga sessions, this exploration will reveal the deeper layers of the mindset along with diving into the shapeless silent transparency were the mind might recognized infinity and eternity as its inner reality beyond any mental understanding.
